DianeMarie and Stan’s Journey: September 29, 2013

They say that “No news is good news,” but I do realize that it is not really fair for those of you who check the blog to find out how Diane is doing.  Yes, in this case, “No news is good news, for things have been going quite well.  Diane continues to be able to eat, at least on many days, and she continues to feel well.  We have not heard anything from the doctors, and our next appointment is a MRI on Oct 7th.  This will tell us how the radiation affected the tumors in the brain, but for now we continue to live one day at a time and enjoy one day at a time.

Again, thank you all for your prayers and for many of you who check the blog much more often than I put something on the blog!!!

DianeMarie and Stan’s Journey: September 9, 2013

“He who rescued us from so deadly a peril will continue to rescue us; on him we have set our hope that he will rescue us again, as you also join in helping us by your prayers, so that many will give thanks on our behalf for the blessings granted us through the prayers of many.”  II Corinthians 1:10-11

Today was a day of thanksgiving and the answer to the prayers of people from many congregations and even from many countries.  Diane and I met with Dr. Xu, Diane’s radiologist, and she showed us the results from the CT scan of a week ago.  Diane’s lung is no longer collapse!  There is no longer fluid surrounding the lung!  Diane has one cancer lesion, tumor, in the lung.  Before Diane began to take Tarceva (her chemo pill) the tumor measured 38mm x 28mm.  It now measures 13mm x 14 mm.  That is a major reduction and, obviously, a GREAT PRAISE THE LORD!

When we entered Dr. Xu’s office today we expected that Diane would have to soon begin radiation on her left hip, but the chemo pill has also affected the hip for the cancer is no longer eating the bone in that hip.  So the doctor will continue to watch it closely, but radiation will be not be done at this time.

Diane will have a MRI done of her brain on October 7th so that will be the next major test, but for now we rejoice at the report today and we are so thankful for all of your prayers.  Thank you.

We do ask that you would pray for Diane’s eating.  Tarceva is positively affecting the cancer, but it is negatively affecting her eating.  She continues to lose weight as food just does not taste good to her.  Please pray for healing in this area also.  Again, than you!

DianeMarie and Stan’s Journey: September 3, 20113

This past Friday DianeMarie had a CT scan of her chest and her lower abdomen.  Today the nurse for her oncologist indicated that the CT scan showed “a good response” to the Tarceva pill (her chemo pill) which, of course, is a PRAISE THE LORD for us.  We do not have an appointment with the oncologist until the 13th so we will wait till then for further clarification, but those three words are totally enough for now!!
